e-Framer – Online shop for e-bikes

The relatively young Swiss brand e-Framer runs an online store for e-bikes. The brand focuses on a clear product palette, a simple and customer-specific purchase process and an optimized user experience throughout every touch point. JOSHMARTIN was assigned to implement the website and the shop. The design concept was supplied by the contracting agency.

The application combines website, online shop and appointment booking tool in one system. The website is based on WordPress and the shop system on WooCommerce, whereby multiple customizations were implemented. The appointment booking system which manages the deliveries was connected to the shop using an Elixir API via Absinthe GraphQL. The tool calculates distance and estimated driving time for each order considering the shipping address and displays possible dates and times for delivery on a VueJS date picker. In addition, a small Phoenix backend was implemented for managing bookings, drivers, public holidays etc.

The WooCommerce checkout was enhanced with fields for relevant customer data such as size, weight, delivery date etc. Also the standard e-mails of WooCommerce had to be redefined and redesigned with customized content.
